Ricing up a sierra questions

Firstly to the many that will bag out the thort of ricing up a sierra, Bring it awn :D . So ill get to my question, would lowering a sierra front and rear with lowering blocks affect the steering in anyway?? and what would be a safe size lowering block to use? would a 4inch block be to much? thanks to anyone that can help.

nah just make up some adjustable shackles so you can go up and down on reques and then youll still have the ability to go back up for clearance

yeah its no biggie to put blocks in and out, same as changin' springs which ive done a few times now. just want opinions on how it would handle look and drive ect?? anyone have pics of low sierras? Its a lwb ute so think mini truck style.

Hey Nic, Where could i find pics or info on these? Running lowering block would push the bumpstops and chassis closer together?? yeh so i may have to shave the stops to run say a 4inch lowering block.

Okay since there isnt much info on the lowering blocks coming my way, does anyone know the website for the lowering blocks that you tell them your measurments they custom make u a kit?? i think there in just cars mags etc.

The Love_mud Zuk lowering kit includes

X 4 pieces of 2x4 (Solid radiata pine) 6 inch inches long.

x 2 rolls of gaffa tape (Nashu brand .. no skinping here)

x 1 tube aryldite.

x 4 Cinder Blocks

Fitting instructions

Support body on supplie cinder blocks

cut off old U-Bolts with hacksaw and dis-guard (You will not need these anymore way to heavy)

Mix 1/4 of the aryldite to manufacturers instructions

Liberally coat the long narrow sides on one radiata pine lowering block

Install supplied radiata pine lowering block between spring pad and spring and affix in place with 1/2 roll of gaffa tape.

repeat steps above until all four blocks are installed.

Do not drive until the aryldite is fully cured.


OR

You could make up some 3 inch blocks with a quality alloy that is the same length as the spring pads are for the rear, drill a hole all the way through it in the centre (where the spring centering bolt would normally go and a couple of quality machine head bolts to replace the spring centering bolts. Then bolt the whole lot together.

You will also need some new U Bolts, dont skimp on these as the will be under added tension stress due to the added leverage due to the extra leverage of the block.

In the front I would use dearched springs instead of blocks as the change in camber (or is it caster ?? ) could be nasty under heavy braking with blocks installed leading to some very funky steering.

Well if I were gonna lower the Zuk .. that's what U would do .. I may also look at what could be done as far as making a body lowering kit (using thinner bushes between the chassis and body, not sure if it's feasible as I have never looked)



Oh I will make and sell you the pine lowering kit for just $199.95+ shipping inc GST if you want to go ahead ... (strictly for show purposes only, I would not recommend even getting in a car so equipped)

By the look of the Tempe tyres Zuk I would say that it is only on slighty lower or factory sagged springs ... take a look at the back wheel, the spring is only oh so slightly below the centerline of the rim/tyre.
