I find the "faster than endless air" claim very dubious.
But if it is an all metal construction, no plastic bits (as he claims) then (a) it might be pretty durable and (b) he should put up some photos of the inside as well...
Edit: doesn't Bogged live around there? Maybe he could swing by for a real-life demo.

This is not legal advice.
hes selling it, he has to sell it up!chimpboy wrote:I find the "faster than endless air" claim very dubious.
Thats Hobbsy thats selling this shit, as far as I know.. ask for a demo at a Navrun infront of the crowdEdit: doesn't Bogged live around there? Maybe he could swing by for a real-life demo.
Why don't you just email him and ask him, he's a good bloke who's been in the industry for a long time, he's not a 5 minute wonder like a lot of them on ebay. I've brought a lot of stuff off him and it's all been good quality components. I trust him myself and am about to buy one of those 15ltr tanks in the next few weeks, going to use my max air compressor, tho if I had the cash I'd get one of those compressors. Apparently they use them with the airbag setups on the ricers etc, they're supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard.

air compressor
Hi guys - Hobzee here.
I think a blow off sounds like a great idea. I will bring a demo along to Navrun for a race. All I need is a car with an endless air system to be there .. anyone coming to Big River 1st w'end of Aug for the Navrun and got an endless air? Ruffy will be there as judge - you know him and he is Radar Boy for the weekend..
I will also be at Ateco (but not to steal their show) so I can give one on one demos. Just ask.

Thanks SC
Let's face it, even if an endless air beats the BOSS it can only be by a few seconds and that's not bad for a 12V job.

Hi new to the Forum and 4x4 scene, been reading threads for a while, but not needed to ask up until now.
Have seen these advertised on ebay, certainly seem good, just a few questions for Hobzee, whats it like for spares/overhaul kits? and what maintenance do the units need? Complete newby to all this, having read a bit on web, certainly pays to have good compressor!!
Was going to email you, but seems this info might be of use to others.
Not many people have experienced your units over here in WA (from what I can gather), but willing to give it a try and give good feedback.
Thanks

Re: air compressor
Looking forward to seeing it in action Hobzee. If I can fit one, I want one...Hobzee wrote: I will also be at Ateco (but not to steal their show) so I can give one on one demos. Just ask.
Warn - Dont leave home without it
"3/4 Horse Power" : 746 watts to the HP = 560 watts
"Draws max 25 amp on start up under pressure." : 14V x 25A = 350 watt, and that being at the most extreme load situation.
Something doesn't add up............

i run one of those compressors mine's called the big pump from BBM it is as good as they say the only thing i have a problem with is that i bolted the none return valve on the outlet of the compressor and the heat it genrates kept melting the insides of it. need to get on of those braided lines. was worth the money and i paid more than they are on ebay.
HZJ73, lifted, crawler gears, double locked, sitting on 35's

Same origins as BBM units. BBM buy off qld who buy off USA who buy off Taiwan. I buy off Taiwan = 2 x less middlemen and much less freight. It is the revised later edition of the BBM unit. Note the air cleaner and 100% duty cycle.
Also got 180psi switches now too.

I was talkng to Hobzee about this set up on the weekend. It certainly does sound the goods. And as stated before he's got to good of a reputation in the industry to go blowing it on a 350 buck air set up.... But in saying that the only way i could personally endorse such a product would be if i was "given" one to use in my truck. of course this would be deemed as sponsorship and 4WDshop stickers would be applied to the vehicle!!!!
Then i could tell you all EXACTLY how good they are...
And as for the endless air set ups. Not too many A/C compressors out there would displace 3 cubic feet of air per minute at a reasonable engine speed unless they were massively under driven.
Now... where will i pop those stickers...
As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
I've got a very similar one called a "big thumper" from ATS4X4 in Geelong. Supposedly 4cfm, and I don't doubt it. It used to take me at a guess 45-50 minutes to air up 4-35x11.5R15 centepedes from 10psi to 40psi with the old Thomas blue tongue, the other day I did 10 tyres in less time it would have taken me to do 1, with the first up in around 35-40 seconds which is helped by the tank volume. The outlet does get very hot and I've used hydraulic hose (2500psi) for the first 500mm to the one way valve with no problems yet. A hint from the hose supplyer was to superglue the hose to the fitting.
Damian.

There are two different types of compressors that look indentical. Those cheaper ones are not the same ones as in the $350 dollar auction.
not commenting on the smaller one as i know nothing about it. Just making sure you're all aware so noone buys thinking it's the 3/4 hp job.
PS: hobzee, I've cleaned a spot on the 60 for the stickers!!!

Gee Ruffy I dont have any stickers - Stickers are an overhead and I'm not an overhead kinda guy ... How about we sticky tape a business card to your car ...
Who's up for me putting a demo in Ruffy's rig for say 2 months? After that we auction it off as a second handy to OL guys only. (Gotta make sure we dont upset the 4sale boys but). Proceeds can go towards Terry Roberts catering tent (Terry does catering for Ateco, all Navruns, Vic Winch, Cliffhanger, Piranha Pursuit, etc etc) His tent looks very sad. Still got Cliffhanger Bindies in it.
Would you listen to Ruffy? If he said they were shit hot would you believe him? Am I going to sell more in the end if I do?
What do you think Ruffy .... dumb question....
