i can only speak from what i have experienced mate iv had 36x12.5 ET2's for a while now they are an awsome tyre and they are huge, awsome in mud and clay surfaces there good on rock when u drop the pressures iv run them as low as 8psi with simex tubes and not had any problems, but they work best at 14psi on my truck
GQ LWB TD42, boost, lockers etc

The 36's are heaps better on the road, i didn't say good just better ;) but not quite as good in the muddy shit, mind you next set will be 35x11.5

Mainly play in rocks and creek beds so probably not the best tyre of choice.I put a mates set of 35s on my car and the off set on the rims were not right so they rubbed on the rear chassis rail stopping full articulation,also they had tubes in them and were not my tyres so they were only dropped to 18 pound.In all fairness i was comparing them to my maxxis mudzillas at 8 pound and there was no comparrison.I know this was an unfair comparrison but it was such a shit day out it is just burnt in my brain and for some reason or other i just blame that tyre.I hope that clears my negative attitude for you.

to see what simexs can do take them to toolangi i think u would change your mind

simexs are great tyres count how many people run simxes at the ateco challenge next weekend

you will see krimnl racing (darren green and huddy) run 3 diffrent types of tyres for diffrent types of events

simexs prob aint no good for rock crawling events but i would love to see
baja craw 35 vs simex in a big bog hole in toolangi and i mean compair with same 4wd and everything thats bolted to it

i run unlocked diffs and 36 ET2's and i have a mate that runs twin lockers and 35x13.5 bias claws and mine is better in the mud without lockers compared to his twin locked thing, but on rocks he gets further then me.

interesting to see why people voted for each way.

personally i dont think most people understand how these tyres work.

watch any tyre and i mean any (including boggers) they all fill up with mud in the middle and it is infact the outer lugs which do all the work.

this leads to the truth that 35 and 36 simex do the same in mud as they have the same OUTER lugs ( this is true as i've seen more than my share of 35 vs 36 simex in mud and they are the same, and i dont care what you say) ask any tyre manufacture and they will tell you the same. i mean hell, why do you think they put 3 lugs on the 36 simex, they understand the tyre dynamics.

but what makes the 36 better is its road/gravel handeling due too the 3rd lug.

pay attention to tyre dynamics i say, and not just what you hear.

and with that, go the 36, just as good in mud ( if you have the power to turn a slighty heavier/bigger tyre) and better on road/gravel

I don't, the wider the usless section in the middle the crappier the tyre in the mud, the tyre struggles more to dig through the soft stuff due to the big flat area which is suspended on the top due to the uslessness of it, the ET's perform better in the mud, i have no doubt in my mine BUT the ET2 is that much better on the road and high speed dirt it almost outweighs the advantages in the mud....... Almost

what about the ET compared to the jt2 or tsl the jt2 seems to love the mud and not get cloged up same with tsl.
