if your gona do this you should really have a gregorys manual to guide you.
basically remove wheels and start undoing bolts til you can move the axle.
when you can do that just give it a yank and it will come out. make sure you remember the order everything goes together in otherwise enjoy big leakages.
good luck

IF IT MOVES, SHOOT IT
IF IT DOESNT, CUT IT DOWN
IF ITS GREEN, PISS ON IT

to stop your brake fluid draining out all over the floor....
I'd recommend doing the bearings & seals while your in there ( but get a shop to press out the old bearings & press in the new ones - it's heaps easier this way )

remember safety first. GOOD jack stands etc...

These are good instructions except I have found that you dont really need to remove the drum off the brakes just lift the whole axle assembly out as one.diesel028 wrote:Take off wheels, take off brake drums, take off brake lines, undo bolts at back of drum plate and voila....out come axles
but yeah as said above, go out and get a Gregorys manual.....worthwhile $40 spent i reckon
A couple of things to remember is try to keep the weight off the inner axle seal so as not to bugger it. Also not mentioned above is the handbrake cable needs to be unclipped.
I also agree that the Gregorys manual is a must have.
Even if you dont do much work on the vehicle yourself it is still good to carry it with you and if anything dies on you yourself or a passer by may be able to help with the book as a guide.
