Why would a 94 Sierra leak water between motor and gearbox?
Is there a plug in there?

Hmm, no coolant runs into the bell housing.
Have you looked at the heater hoses on the firewall to see if they are leaking onto the bellhousing? Also the is a heater connections under the inlet manifold.
