New 2inch exhaust + extractors + tuned carby = hard to start

Post by dank »

got the carby cleaned and tuned the other day, guy said the auto choke was blocked so he unblocked it and it was running really well until my cat crapped itself so i decided to get 2inch system with lukey extractors. It ran fine the first few times then ever since its been an absolute mongrel to start...seems like the auto choke isn't doing its thing as i have to pump the gas about 7 times just to get it to fire when its cold and it still takes about 5 go's to get it to start when its cold.

Any ideas/quick fixes?

no 2. when the zook is running and warmed up it idles about 1000rpm.
If i stop at a stop or traffic lights then try to get moving again the acceleration flat spots really bad at about 1000-2000rpm almost until stall if i leave the foot on the pedal.

is it getting too much fuel/choking itself?

cheers for any help....

PS YES I searched :finger: and there was some info including stuff about blocked jets, bad fuel, etc....but just want some new info if anyone has recently come across this issue

everything you've described sounds like carb choke and acclrator pump issues

I'ed strip the carb, clean it and put a carb gasket kit thru it
Trying to finish the Zook
