engineered shackles?

Post by dank »

Was flicking through a few 4by magazines tonight and came across some ads from Off Road Industries and Rhyno (?).

both stated that they make engineered extended shackles for the zooks.

Does this mean that they are road legal and therefore a insurable modification to your vehicle?

How have people got around the insurance issue when fitting their own extended shackle?

Is it a matter of just hoping that the insurance company don't spot them after you've smashed into a tree?

This is something I've been thinking about and was wondering if others have had similar thought processes?

sorry about all the q's :P

cheers
Dan

Do a search, this has been covered heaps, longer shackles change your diff and steering angles, thats why engineers won't allow them, usually.
