sticky acelerator pedal

Post by RobP »

Hi Guys, I just bought a new petrol hilux and have noticed that the revs are slow to drop off between gear changes (its a manual).....so I get a spike up to 500rpms when the clutch is depressed. I've never dealt with a car that has an electronic pedal setup like this, so my can of WD40 is unlikely to work! Has anyone else had this problem? and can perhaps suggest a fix?

Apart from that minor problem...a great car...after 3 Landcruisers, i'm now a Hilux convert.

All the best

Sound like it's a drive by wire set up simmiler to new VZ commy it's just the way they are i think our work ute (VZ) has a slight delay to accelerate if it really bothers you ask your dealer if it is common for it to be doing that. A few of the newer cars i've driven do it.
plenty of parts on the bench
