I did long ago a body lift but the gas tank needs lifting.
Any ideas as its held on at the front by 2 bolts and the brackets (welded to the tank) go flat towards the front for about 4 inches then they go down and backwards (at about a 30 degree angle basically till they rejoin the tank.
At the back they are basically flat.
I thought that if i droped the tank (using a jack),then put the back of the tank up first to bolt it in above the chassis, then put the front bolts back in.This would mean that the tank was on a angle and the gauge would read incorrect.
REAR OF TANK
FRONT OF TANK
IS THIS THE WAY TO DO IT OR ARE THERE ANY BETTER IDEAS?
Thanks in advance

Gas tank lift on Mav
I have the same problem and was thinking of doing the same thing. not sure if its possible to rotate the tank to slide the rear mounting tabs over the x-member. If you do it let me know how much you gain. I think you need to lift the front ones as well but this would require a change to the bracket
I think the guage is a pressure guage and if so it wouldn't matter if its on an angle.

you need to modify the brackets a bit, but apparently its not that hard to do and you are on the right track with it. Also the gauge is via a float because LPG is a liquid, hence the L in LPG. Have a good look all over your tank, there will be instructions on how it has to be mounted i think.
