Help Needed - What Size Tyre On 2001 Rodeo

Gday all, new to the forum, would appreciate some advice.
Got a 2001 Rodeo with OME suspension all round (TB's as well), front bar with winch.
Currently have 245x70x16's BF AT's. Want as much rubber under their as I can without any further work required.
I put a Prado rims with 265x75x16's under it and the tyre touched (on full lock) the front bar mounts and back wall - is it possible the rim was not off set right?
Was hoping to squize 265x75x16's MTR's (equivalent to 32's?) will they fit with another rim?. Any advice - Thanks.

If its touching at full lock imagine what its going to do while rolling along and at compression
The 265/75's are 11.5" wide I think.
You just wont fit 32's or 33's under the front of a Rodeo without a bit of surgery and some decnt lift.

Thanks for the reply sudso, I thought as much was hoping for a miracle.
Whats the conversion ratio from metric to imperial tyre sizes.
Eg. 245x75x16's are these 31's??

Go to http://www.onlineconversion.com/tire_si ... ersion.htm for a conversion calculator. Alternatively go to the BFGoodrich AU site. The have a chart indicating tyre diameters under their muddies section that I found indispensable when I was trying to figure out what to do.

245/75 R16 = 30.5", 265/75 R16 = 31.6

From experience, and I think Sudso can agree, the Rodeo is a lame duck in its standard form for rubber. As soon as you think rubber, you need to think body lift. Do this and your 32's should be cool.

Offset is an important thing for clearance. E.G, I am running am 8" x 16 Landcruiser offset (22 negative I think) with 285/75R16 and touch wood, I am clearing the chasis on full lock. Unfortunately as with Sudso, I had to take out a bit of metal to clear the outer guards.

Bottom line, there is not alot you can do without the help of an angle grinder or / and a body lift to get those valuable inches of clearence. The body lift is very painless and relatively cheap and two people can knock it over in an afternoon. But.... once it is done, you will have a ball.

Appreciate that Rainsey, top reply nice and clear. I might give you a yell I think and get some knowledge of you for the body lift.
They certainly look the goods a little higher, better bite the bullet and just do it.
