What type of fuel filter do you use on your TD42?

And why do you use it? Mine has a C.A.V. at the moment and it is giving me grief. I've been using it because it was on when I bought the car and the replacements are very cheap and available anywhere. I think I will change back to the standard one because of issues of sucking in air.

Whatever one it is that I use on mine, all I know is that I had to go out specially and buy the biggest flamin mother of a spanner just to remove the stupid thing.
What on earth possessed them to make it that size is beyond me.
And in answer, I'm assuming the normal everyday type.

I use the standard filter but I only use BOSCH fuel filters as they are wrapped like a dunny roll rather than the concertina type element.
BOSCH fuel filters are the only ones I have found that don't allow crap to get through to the gauze mesh filter in my injector pump. (Not all Patrols have these....)

Thats a good thread currentlyoffline, don't know how i missed it. I'll go back to a bosch filter by the sounds of it. Looks like I'll have to get a water sensor too. On a side note my fuel pump doesn't have that little gauze fuel strainer or spring either so might pick up those while at Nissan. Cheers
