And then these posts.........

These bolt straight on giving an extra 3 inches of width. I then used 70 series rear discs as they will slide over the hub instead of needing to be bolted to the back of it (so there is no drama with wheel studs and the discs can be easily removed). 80 series rear calipers are identical to the 70s and I am just making up the brackets to suit. I went for the 70s discs over 80 discs as the 80s are deeply dished and I wanted the caliper well within the wheel rim.
The handbrake will simply be tapped into the brake lines and the standard cable will interact with a seperate brake piston giving a 4 wheel disc handbrake.
which has got me thinking about making the LC60 diffs even wider ......Before picking up the LC60 diffs for a price too good to be true, I had bought a rear IFS Hilux Housing and Axles, IFS Hilux Front Hubs and the Hub Spacer kit from ABT.ORSM45 wrote:its not the brakes, its the actual hub.
80 series for the rear. (30mm wider each side), Independent Front hubs off a IFS hilux. (30mm wider each side)
with the fronts you use your original discs. but you have to buy a spacer kit that goes between the disc and the hub (spacing the disc back into its original position)
So going from the above quotes, I can use the IFS Hubs, and ABT Kit on the LC60 front diff to gain an extra 3" width, then buy some 80 series rear hubs to do the same in the back?
Has anyone actually done this conversion? and can anyone confirm that the ABT kit and IFS hubs will fit the front LC60 diff?
Also pics would be sweet too!!
