But do they fabricate or only sell off the self imported stuff. Places like the Rod Shop will fabricate but prices are pretty much the same.

them the carrier for the thrust bearing was off line causing thrust bearing drag and clutch slip.It does'nt help that the bearing carrier and the cross in the adaptor have a rough finish giving a lumpy slid.
I'm about to start my 3rd conversion, the bell housing will be alined before I start and the cross and bearing carrier polished smooth.

ps when contacted about this Marks said "we have sold 100s of these and you are the only one to have this problem" yeah right.
Then why buy marks the third time around?

I was thinking of the EFI 302 out of a later F100 mainly for the torque and the fact they are less popular due to lower HP but it would still suit my needs

Idealy I would like the 302 with something like the T18a for the granny low what other options did the ford trucks have for engine gearbox ?

EB XR8's can be picked up around 3k for a complete car undamaged if you look. There was one on carpoint the other day in great condition for $3500 and a repoed one for about $2500.

In wrecked cars I've seen the non-XR EFI V8's (Fairmont and Fairlane) go for as low as about $1200 for the whole vehicle.

Just not as popular for transplants, not necessarily any worse. The fords kept the EFI 302 a lot longer than the Holdens kept the EFI 304 because it was a better engine. Look at the last spec XR8 302's to the best of the 5 litre SS's.

In the end, for the horsepower wars they had to make the change.

Ford did toss up supercharging the 302 instead of using the newer 5.4. It was a pretty close call.

If you're going to import a US engine, import the US spec Ford 5.4 Supercharged V8 :D
