Behind radiator perhaps? Heaps of cool air and still protected.

try a water/oil heat exchanger with a small thermstat controlled air/oil cooler infront or beside the radiator.

I've mounted mine above the motor where the top mount intercooler would normally sit and I've put a nissan scoop on the bonnet. It works really well ;)

the top mount is not the greatest of places, it will suffer from heat soak at low speeds. if its in front of the radiator at least it will get some airflow due to the radiator fan. mind you if there is room on the top you could fir a fan on it.

yeah i've gotta fit up my oil cooler somewhere and i had considered the top mount position with maybe just a small thermo fan mounted ontop of it with a bonnet scoop... might give me a reason to run two scoops then, one to direct some air over the turbo and then over the oil cooler.

do they give much of a performance benifit by cooling the turbo or is the reduction in temperature more of a longevity?

Yeah I run braided lines on all my stuff. I don't have a fan fitted though. Well not yet ;)

Have we got any more info on how the car runs once a oil cooler has been fitted up? Did you notice a drop in temps etc etc. IVe got this little thermo of the ac system that I ripped out that I have thort of messing around with, by fitting it up to a oil cooler.

How did you guys mount the cooler?

Some pics would be tops.

I fitted my transmission coolers in front of the radiator.
