80 series bodylift, mudflap and bumper fitting
Have an 80 series which has a 2 inch bodylift.
Currently have no mud flaps or bumber ends (bumperettes, or what ever you call the plastivc corner bits.) on the rear bar
Want to put all the back bits on. Is there any problem or tricks to fitting this when you have a bodylift.
Have not had them on in so long, but it looks they connect the chassi to the body, which i'm thinking could be a bit trick seen as they don't allign anymore.
Any info would be great thanks
Burnsy.

Firstly the mud flaps won't line up. The bumpers are mounted on the chassis at the rear and on the mudflaps at the wheel ends. This is where the mud flaps hold the bumpers to the flares & body.bruiser wrote:Not quite sure what you mean RV
I'm not talking about any gaps as such, dont care about that.
But do you have to modify one of the fixing points?
Basically you need to lift the bumpers by mounting those steel reinforcements higher and then space up the centre alum step same as the bodylift height.
In my opinion not worth worrying about unless its just a temporary measure. Look at making a new rear bar that gives you better departure angle!
Shut Up, Get Out, & Start Digging...
here is another thread and this would work fine on an 80 aswell:
