Has anyone installed a Les Richmond ute kit before?
I know a few of you have built your own utes but just wondering if anyone has used the kit.

can you stick up a pick of yours loanrangie?
mine got cut behind the roof support (in line with the body mount behind the front door) and we used 50x50 box with some cross bracing back to the body mount. and some 1.6mm plate for the back wall tacked onto the box, rolled the roof over and structual rivets and some sikaflex to keep the alloy off the steel.

Now that would be a waste of time since there are more rim options for a D1 than D2, other way around makes more sense. I spoke with Andrew today. They don't make the kits anymore but he can get all the parts individually. Wow, I reckon that is a good price.
I think one of the hardest bits to get right would be the roof line. To get the roof to round down at the rear and have the gutter. A lot of people just cut it and do a square edge but I don't like that look.
If I could get a drive in - drive out for $1500 I would take it.

I had a reply from LRA re their ute kits. For everyone interested this is what you get if you want the cab only.
I hope al that makes sense.
The parts I can supply to do the cabin will be as follows. 1 x roof capping 1 x rear panel for rear window 1 x full set braces for rear panel. 2 x rear upper 1/4 vynal trims (un trimmed) 2 x supporting brackets to suit 2 x rear door replacement panels (you will need to cut these for a tray) 1 x rear floor main brace for rear panel 2 x outer window trims
Can also supply 2 x 1 to 1.5 foot panel with door end infills which you
will need to trim off from the rear corner to the rear panel.
For all of this which is most of the ute kit will be at a glance around
$1500.00 . All steel parts are not plated and will need to painted etc.
This is a guide and will depend on quantity and cost of parts etc.

I have already done this to mine and it is fairly easy.

glass roof complete you have to remove gutter from yr own roof and add to glass roof...
so no cracks 6 months down the track in the roof.... look original!!
I am even going to fit my sunroof to it will have tilt only action but will one of a kind rangie ute
