making side steps

Post by troylux »

hey guys,

i am making my own side steps for my single cab ln106 hilux soon just after a few answers

should i make them out of aluminium or stainless
(i can get stainless for really cheap and i can weld that to)

what size pipe should i use 2 inch?

should i weld checkerplate on the top of it ?

should i leave them polished stainless or paint them black ?

if any one has some pics of theirs and where they mounted it to it would be great

you can email pics to troyede@optusnet.com.au

i was thinking of something like the below pic

mate the lnik doesnt work , but most here make a slider type arangement, use either 45mm * 2.6mm pipe, CDW or CDS for the whole thing or use RHS for the main bar, can rivet chequer plate on the top if required, dearch in general tech for DIY Sliders
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
