Guys I have been told the timing marks for timing the fuel pump to .76 BTDS are on the block and the fuel pump. Is this correct and where are they located??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Daniels

GQ TD42 fuel pump timing marks
injector pump timing
What pump is it.
You need a timing gauge which goes in the back of the pump between the injector lines.
I set mine to 0.74 TDC
Cheers Heath.

There is a line scribed on the base of the pump. With Cyl 1 set to TDC,both valves closed and timing mark on crank pulley lined up,loosen the pump mounting bolts and rotate the pump so the mark on the base of the pump lines up with a corresponding mark on the back of the timing cover. The Nissan book specifies that injection pump plinger lift should be 0.75mm@TDC. To set up the pump plunger lift, you will need a dial gauge and adaptor to screw into the back of the pump to measure the plunger lift. I've found that setting the pump on the scribed line, will give 0.35mm plunger lift which seems to give adequate performance with an engine/injection system in good condition. Unless you have the dial gauge and adaptor, just set pump on the scribed line.
