The 31" simex ET is close to 32" but the 31" simex MT is a touch under 31

Few of my mates have had them, bang for buck wise they are pretty good. Not that bad on the road either. How much did you get quoted??

I run the Simex MT's (31's) on my Jeeps and swear by them. They are cheap, and so far have done about 40000kms on them and still about 50% tread.

Yes, they're noisy, but great in the bush, and about $160 each, can't go wrong!

$160 is about right...

Mongrels are pretty stiff in the sidewall.

I use retread rather than remould Mongrels, these are not stiff in the sidewalls.

Mongrel 31's are much taller than Simex MT 31's

Simex be much better ON road, quieter and better handling, and very good off road.

I love my Mongrels on and off road.
Good on mud, good on dry rock, fair on wet rock.

On lighter cars, yes, retreads are more supple, because they don't have the extra thick sidewalls like the remoulds do.
On a heavy car, I would prefer full remoulds, because of extra strength of the sidewalls.

I like the Mongrels better than the Simex MT because they are more suitable for serious off roading, and are taller than the simex MT.

Simex ET's are different story, if you can afford them, they way better than Mongrels.

I paid $150 each fitted and balanced but they may have gone up?

Deano! just get some of these bad boys, I have shown you many times that they are the goods on and off road, rock and mud. Heaps better than the ET's or JT's on dry rock, but not as good as my MTR's.

Just been looking at the Simex website, the figures quoted for the Centipede MT were OVERALL DIAMETER 775mm (30.5") and OVERALL WIDTH 279mm (10.98")!

Will that fit under a sierra with 2" spring lift? I'm looking at 30" MT's, but none of them are that wide! It also says that they need 8.5" rims, recon they'd go on a 15"x7" rim?
Use cheap tools... Its better to break the tool than the part!

if they are that wide you may run into probs with the tyre hitting the spring but so what...dont turn so far. As for the rims...15x7 will work fine but will prob make the tyre a little taller and less wide than the specs as it sounds like they were based on an 8.5" rim.
