V8 Disco on gas?
Moderator: Micka
V8 Disco on gas?
Im thinking of getting another Disco but a V8 on Gas...Am I mad for having two Disco's?? One a TDi300 and a V8 on gas?
I know the 3.9L use's a heap of fuel about 15-18L P/100km....I guess if its on the gas it will still use heaps of gas but will work out a little cheaper .
I just miss my V8....I had a VR commodore gen SS for years.
Any thoughts ?

Everybody warned me. I listened hard and nodded. I shuddered. I wept.
I bought a Landrover anyway :D

Brilliant idea.
Is it possible to have too many Landy's? I think not.
My 97 v8 gets around 320-330km from 69 litres of gas. That's around 21l/100km, and never varies much no matter how I drive it. Beautiful to drive, too. Costs $28-38 per tank depending on gas prices at the time.
Go for it!

Trouble is its my wife's little Pajero io that I want to trade for the Disco ....she may not be happy ...but I just cant get past the idea of having two Disco's ....but I just Love them
Im talking to him re a trade....so I guess I will see what happens. He is asking $12,000 with Vic RWC , I paid $13k for the io about 4 months ago....its just a tad small for us but really is a super little 4wd...yes 4wd not a pretend offroader unlike the Rav4 or Honda CRV...its got the same trasfer case set up as the big Pajero's...its called superselect.

the price of v8 D1's has fallen through the floor and is about to hit china. 12K is a bit rich imo. Have you though about selling the mitsu private and buying outright. You should be able to get a v8 d1 for around 8K.amshaw wrote: He is asking $12,000 with Vic RWC , I paid $13k for the io about 4 months ago....its just a tad small for us but really is a super little 4wd...yes 4wd not a pretend offroader unlike the Rav4 or Honda CRV...its got the same trasfer case set up as the big Pajero's...its called superselect.
btw you can never have enough landy's.... one is always surely to be broken and that way you can swap bits to diagnose and keep the other one going
Warn - Dont leave home without it

Unfortunately, there is a bit of truth to this, but don't you just love them anyway?!
Wouldn't want to own anything else! A Landy in pieces in the shed is still more enjoyable to own the anything the whitegoods brigade can offer.

For a series 2, there are three options for gas tanks:
1. Under the car, where the fuel tank normally is, with a little corner tank in the RHR.
2. Big single tank in the back, retain original fuel tank.
3. There is also a tank which is rather like 3 small tanks joined together, which go at floor level in the back, and has a false floor over the top. Sits about 8-10 inches high, and reaches pretty much right across from left to right.
