good suspension set up for 75's

Post by known 2 »

hello, the car in question allready has a spring lift with very heavy duty springs wich offer no flex at all so i wana redo the car what are the softest flexy springs avaiable and what shackel combo should i use? i would like to run 37's or 38's, The car has twin shock mounts at the front if that changes anything. also what kind of stronger axels and cv's are available for 75's?

thanks

37's or 38's is it road rego'd. To go that big and get flex you will have to go spring over, that will give you 6-7" straight up and mabe the fitting of a 2" body lift or mabe some gaurd trimming also. I would sugest you play with old springs buy yanking leaves out and seeing how they go. The rear springs are hard to get to flex but a bit of work and shouldnt be to bad.
haultech and longfeild are two brands of after market cv's available for 75's any other question's pm me.

cheers

Go to Superior Engineering. Just did mine and it is awsome. I did the u bolt filp kits, shock hoops, drop shackles (Rear) ladder bar, superior rear springs, modified rear shock mounts etc etc. I have been playing with all sorts of setups and quite frankly wasted my money until now. Not cheap but worth every sent.

it will be road reg but only running 33's on road i was thinking 2i sprin 2 shackle and 2 body lift that would be enough to clear 37's for the bush

just wana know som eplaces in south east qld who do these custom spring packs for max flex.

cheers

mate just got superior to make up some bits for his mq.
its huge as now cant even get it out of the shed on 31's lol and it drove in on 35's:P

remove load leaves, get some big shackles, and mab a gaurd chop or body lift

dont do a spring over in qld. unless you wanna fit handles to ya shoes.

any spring lift (apart from SPOA) won't help you clear shit... your bumpstops are still in the same place so the tires will still hit on uptravel...

hence the reason i recomended spring over. however I would personally fit custom offest rims mabe 2-3 inches cause spring overs have a habit of tipping on the side's. spring over is unable to be engineered in qld.

if your springing it over, use 60 series diffs under it, that way you get the added width without having to chew out wheelbearings due to the extra force of the offset rims

hmm iwas thinking of finding some gq leaf sprung diffs for it are they much tuffer than 75 'diffs i know the centeres are but what about cv wise.

so i get more width and strength without in one hit

what diff are you breaking??? if it's the front, (assuming it's a zj75 not a j75) then yes, the 60 front diff will be an upgrade. cv's will be the same strength (but haultecs or longfields will fix that). 60 centers are plenty strong enough

It's a FJ/HJ75 (stronger front diff)
I think 60's have the wrong diff offset to be an easy fit on a 75, not sure though.
I understand a 60 diff on the rear and IFS lux spindles on the front can help. i'll see if i can find the thread.

they do.. but he was talking about a springover conversion, so the perches have to be custom anyway
