gotta say the improvement in buggies is amazing.
the only thing I will grip about is that it was a bit boring to watch, having to wait for buggies to drive the course.
the drivers should be with their buggies at all time and in line ready to race, rather than having to be chased down over the loud speaker.
a few guys I talked to were dissapointed with this!,
organisation was not as good as last years final.
it may be better with more buggies and from the way people were talking there is a few in progress!
but well done to the organisers, there was a much bigger crowd and good media coverage, leading up to it on radio, and NBN TV doing a report on it too!
there was some wild rock to drive and tricky courses, some of the huge stuff looked a bit scary,
enjoy ashley
Just so you understand why they call teams over the PA, as they are most likely in the pits doing repairs and once they have been called they have 3 minutes to present their card to be signed by the Judge and start break down time they then have 45 minutes to fix it and present at that stage, the judge can then move on to the next competitor once the card is signed. We only get 45 minutes of break down time for the day once we run out of time your out for the rest of the day and you get 50 points for every stage you don't complete. So should only have to wait 3 minutes in between each one, but good luck with that one!!
Sorry for the wait but I know we try to move as quick as we can to the next stage, as I won't to finish as quick as I can and wash the dust down with a cold one or two.
Cheers

i have been involved with organising large scale events in the past (non-4wd related) and i know how hard it is. I think they did a pretty good job.... and the wait at times wasn't too bad..... gave people time to move from one course to the next

What an awesome weekend... It still hasn't sunk in that we won. The BIG trophy sitting on my desk helps
Everything came together for us.
- Jamie drove with absolute precision and made my job MUCH easier by doing exactly what I needed him to do.
- The buggy was solid and reliable (even if it did cough a bit)
- The Maxxis tyres are simply amazing. So much traction and so predictable.
- The duplex comms units are like driving by ESP. For me it is like driving one of my RC crawlers with words rather than a controller.
- Our ‘pit crew’, Bob and Mick were awesome and without them the weekend would have been a lot more stressful. Thanks guys.
- The courses were excellent. Well done Tony and the team.
- We finished EVERY course and were the only team to do so. Consistency was our key to taking the win.
The atmosphere at the comp was great. There was no politics or other unsavoury carry-on. Everyone was there to have a good time and drive the wheels off their buggies.
A BIG thanks to Jamie for thinking of me when he was looking for a spotter all that time ago. I have learnt so much about spotting and competition over the last couple of years.
Thanks to Greg and BB for their generous guidance and advice. These guys really know the often unnoticed art of good spotting.
Well done to ALL the spotters out there. You guys worked your backsides off all weekend and helped produce some awesome drives and spectacular action.
Finally, thanks to the crowd for cheering at the right moments. The roar from the crowd really helped Jamie and me push the buggy back on all fours on our way to our amazing -28 run on A4. YEEHAWWW!

Well what a weekend Everything about it was awsome.
A big congrates to Tony and his hard working crew for making it all happen.
You guys have lifted the benchmark enormously.
As JK said the atmosphere at the event was unreal.
The coarses were unreal and rewarded those who took a chance or really thought about there lines.
A big congrates to those who are going to the world finals as i think we are sending the best vehicles and drivers for shore.
Myself and steve were pretty happy with how we went as we drove a few coarses and lines that other pro mods didnt but made a few wrong choices on the simpler ones that we should have finished but thats racing and we had a ball. We went with nothing to loose and to finally push ourselfs hard and the buggy and not really worry bout breaking to much and to try put on a show.
I think we succeded at all.
Congrates to the podium 6 it was some awsome driving and to mick for all his awsome recoveries We all tested his skills with getting us out of some very awfull positions over the weekend and he did so without fault.
If every event from here on in is like the finals then they can count us in to go round again next year hopefully in a brand new buggy.
To all the other competitors we should all be proud as these events are nothing without us all and i think everyone of us did well and put on a hell of a show.
To my sponsers this year thanks and i hope to keep the relationships going through next year and beyond as it would not be as easy without you guys.
It was also awsome to have the 9 network there on sunday to get some
footage and for me to get on national tv breaking a rear tailshaft. So all there is to say now is BRING ON NEXT YEARS SERIES!!
Cheers Jamie H

Awesome weekend, what a blast! This was the only round I'd made it to this year and the driving compared to last years finals is just insane!
Those drop offs on A3 and the shootout were nuts! when a few people drove the big bonus last year it was amazing, now their part of the courses!
I heard Dave Camp had a rip roaring fire going at the early hours of the morning, I don't know how the dude slept next to it

Yeah Evan, the top two from each class are going over. Hope you guys kick some arse! Saw it on the NBN news last night too, great to see some mainstream coverage.evanstaniland wrote:do competitors from both classes go to the states to compete or is it just the unlimited class that goes OS and not the promodified???

Had a blast Judging on A2 and B3. It was a very good weekend and never without ongoing entertainment. On A2 Saturday on the last obstacle most of the buggies slid sidways into the crack of doom and couldn't drive out there were a few exceptions- Jamie and Jk drove it perfectly, and a top effort from Tim and Shaun who managed to get out and rock it off the ledge making it just in time. B3 had alot of rolls and breakages on the last climb/ angled drop off. It was a wicked course, and I am partially crippled from running up and down the hill all day in my own delight and excitement.
The spectator turnout was awsome, good to see the advertising taking effect. It just goes to show we need to have WE ROCK in NSW all the time The vibe from the extra crowd seemed to feul the event with excitement.
Well done to Steve (Viperguy) Jeremy's spotter who got through the entire weekend with a bad back. He even managed to cook everyones dinner and breakfast and did it well.
Jeremy you are lucky to have such a wonderful woman so I will just say congratulations, a good effort on entertaining the crowd and making it on channel 9 with the roll over.
Adrian, did you really take apart the Judges buggy ? Somebody owes us judges a drive - A certain Judge needs to have his a** handed to him, me and many others were hoping to end the constant ear slaughter on the weekend.
Well done to all of the competitors and spotters.
