PPS Tassie gas is 10-20 c/l more than Melb and Syd so were're kinda used to being ripped off either way

booked today & paid deposit. yesterday was $4g, today they tried to say it was $4400. hmmm.
are your other fuels dearer by a similar margin. is gas piped across bass strait or do they bring it over on the boat in a tanker truck? the insurance would see them hit with a pretty sizable barge fare.
toured tas on the bike a couple years ago but hey, who looks at fuel prices when filling a bike?

YUP,, $4400 will be for the under floor tanks and a small fuel tank off to the RHside rear quarter, All disco1 have to be done this way if you want some sort of load space

Do your sums carefully, because the V8's use a hell of alot of gas and we are paying 69c down here ATM, and it will only get higher.

Me thinks I'll wait and see what happens with prices first. Petrol may even go down if demand falls further  .

...and Costello still has not clarified the LPG Excise application date and amount. Soooo Mr Howard has some tricks up his sleeve.....

Don't know why it's more expensive here, but there's always an excuse, eg., lack of demand, transport costs, lack of competition and so on - we hear them all the time for all commodities, even the ones grown here!

...pity bout diesels though, would have been nice of Howard had included them in the reabte.

I don't think he knows about diesels yet, he gets driven around in a gen3 statesman at taxpayers expense.

I'd like to see the little fella driving himself to parliamentary duties in a 200 Tdi 'fender, then he'll probably keep in touch with reality a lot easier!!

According to a reply in general chit chat the $2000 federal gov't rebate can be applied with the WA state gov'ts $3000 rebate. I'm now going to be looking into it a lot closer. Possibly even take out the rear passenger seats and get some big tanks for range as I have no need to carry passengers. Wouldn't mind waiting for this http://profire.com.au/ to come out though. Its developments being followed in Perth Street Car and it looks he goods. For dedicated setups what are the biggest tanks people are running? I would want a dedicated lpg sytem if I switch at all.

been researching this for a while too as have been holding out for injected system like ones readily available in UK/Europe but alas have been told it wont be available for older cars for "maybe 2 years mate". $2600 gets u a big ar$e single tank up in the back behind the seats.
If youre getting torpedo tanks underneath the car for that $ please tell me where & I'll drive the car down & book it in...
Got couple quotes for the setup i want at $3800 but they aren't close by so i settled on the local joint for the $200 extra.
will cost the $4k i was originally quoted cause i stamped my feet but point is it had suddenly gone up another $400 in just one day

Do you have a link to this WA govt rebate??? Does that mean you get $5k total??? I bet the govt will make you show receipts. So you can't get back more than the rebate. Like the guy in tassie who bought a house for $5k and had to give $2k of the first home buyers grant back.

Appologies. That was a BIG typo. The total rebate is $3000. The state gov'ts rebate is only $1000 but it adds to the federal to make $3000. My bad

Heard on the radio today that the consumer protection people are looking into install prices in perth as they've magically been knocked up a few hundered $$ since the federal rebate came in. Will be interesting to see the outcome of this.
