I knew someone would say that. First trip to the beach it rubs straight off and the rest of my wheels are already powdercoated so I want it all to match thats all.

Bit of a trip for ya, but Tweed powdercoating (Tweed Heads) did rims for as low as $15 (prob min $20 now), only if in good condition, otherwise they will need to be sandblasted, which they arrange, then it's $35 wheel total.

just buy a new rim. i don't think you will get a sandblast and powdercoat for less than $50 as a one off. new rim is only $50

I have got a new rim, its white while the rest are black, hence why I want to make it the same as the rest because it looks stupid. The rest have been powdercoated black/grey colour which was done before I owned the wheels. It would look shit if I just spray it black because I won't get the same match in colour and it would just look shit. Screw it i'll just go through the yellow pages. I thought someone might know someone who does it for a good price thats all.

Thats cool, I didn't specify. I'll get it done somewhere in the next week or so anyway, can't imagine it costing anymore than about 40 bucks.

Is BigMav still around? I'd like to know if he ended up finding someone in Brisbane who powdercoats wheels for a good price. Anyone else with any helpful info feel free to chime in. I have 5 steel wheels that need powdercoating.

Sounds reasonable Bogged. Ok, after a few phone calls this morning I have come up with some info for Brisbanites who are interested.

This company gave me the best prices and also happenned to be the friendliest to deal with on the phone.

A.V.G. Powdercoating at Geebung (07) 3865 2714 quoted me $20 plus GST each rim for powder coating in matt black (same finish/colour as ARB Bullbars as they do them for ARB, it is only this price as they have this colour running in the machine constantly. A different colour would be more expensive). They had the best turn around time too, about 24 hrs. Speak to Chriss. They dont do sandblasting there but can arrange with a mob across the road from them if needed, call for a price.

I'm getting my 5 wheels done on Thursday, I'll post up pics of the finished product if there is any interest.

Cheers,
Ray

btw, I am in no way benefiting financially by posting up this info. Its only there as an aid to members of this site who are seeking the same info as I was. I hope it is of use to someone.

Got mine done in Arana Hills, can't remember the name of the place. Bit more then 20 bucks from memory but it was done in a gunmetal grey and sandblasted. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal there. And yeah I'm still around. ;)

Thanks BigMav. Ok, went down and dropped off my wheels this morning. Just to clear up a few things from my previous post. The $20 plus GST is for the satin black (not gloss) which they use on TJM bars (not ARB). I decided on a gloss black which will be $25 plus GST. Should be ready on monday so I'll post up pics then.
