Question for auto drivers
Excuse my ignorance but whilst driving an automatic up say a bumpy rocky steep track, when you get to that point when you run out of traction and forward motion and have to come back down the hill, what happens? Do you stick it in neutral and roll down on the brakes, or reverse and roll or leave it in drive and let the steepness of the hill lower you back down to safety?
"If it ain't broken, smash it harder, then make it stronger!"
the correct way, as taught by the VAFWDC, is to use both feet...........
put it into reverse with foot on brake and handbrake on
release handbrake keeping foot on brake
accelarate till the car wants to move against the foot brake and genlty release the foot brake while still reving.... it makes a loud grinding sound off the brakes
keep on the brakes and accelarator....

God of Magnificant Ideas!
Seen a few doing this and they never seem to have any problems, auto owners recon they are great but I'm not convinced. What happens if your coming down a big hill.....ya ride the brakes, moreso if its an auto cause they just want to accelerate, what happens if say theres a river crossing at the bottom ??? Red hot disc brakes and icy cold water ....now thats an interesting combination !!!!!!
