body lift no worries.

longer travel air bags no probs.

can get them on 33s with out to much stress.

The P38s would have to be one of the best value cars around at the moment, great looking and comes with everything, but the cost of fuel is just too scary to come at! Used to have a V8 Discovery (when fuel was still "cheap") and even that was too expensive to actually take fourbying too often.

Hi Brendon,

There is someone on this forum, (I think Hardy??) has made a tubular type winch bar, and was airbag compatible for their P38A.

No one makes one commercially at the moment except Rovertym in the US.

Give me a call at work sometime, I have some engineering background that may be of use in the design etc of the bar. I can also get it 'certified' for SRS compatibility for insurance etc.

yeah getting parts at a reasonable price can be tough, and Tassie is just a PITA for any special vehicle bits.

JC is a good contact to start with and then use your imagination - check 4wd forums and even sus out Rover mods from overseas. You'd be surprised at the ease of importing bits yourself - it can be much cheaper than local and delivery is usually very efficient.

Keep us informed of developments. This is the way of the future me thinks - air bags give the best of both worlds.

Remember you can afford to fuel it cause it's sooo cheap to buy in the first place!.

Yep - 1999 on is the go, as long as it's an XA series (last 2 letters before last 6 numbers in the VIN) WA's aren't too bad really.

Yep - I've got a bit of stuff, although need to update my website a bit.
GenIII Airsprings are the go. Good 2 stage profile for on/off road ride, good travel at the rear, pretty good travel at the front (I have gone longer but it wasn't worth it)

Check out www.rangerovers.net and the associated 4.0 / 4.6 P38a web forum. There's various add links to other small time manufacturers in the US - bars and stuff but none of it isn't anything you could have made here.

Also Brothers Offroad aka Discoute aka Glen (lurks on GCLRO forum c/o AULRO) is making sliders 'n' bars 'n' stuff.

Go the Rangie!

yeah i love the thing and as you all say, the price ant that bad now to buy one.
mine cost a little over 20g thought that was a good buy since they are around 105g new and the running of it isnt to bad i would say a v6 4runner would use as much fuel as the v8 4L rover.

And the traction control well what can i say,if thats the way of things to come then were all going to have a great time in the bush.
go landies and rovers won me over big time.

also thanks HSV Rangie for the web sites http://www.hardrange.com/ and www.rangerovers.net helped a lot www.rangerovers.net been using for a bit found it with google two weeks ago loads of great info on their.

so anyway can anyone please tell me what you have to do to lift the cab 2" is anything going to get in the way brake lines gear shift mine being auto ect what have i got to look out for when going ahead with it

Cheers

Body Lift should be pretty straight forward - all various components look neatly tucked and separate.

But not only do I not know of anyone who's actually done one, I don't actually think it's necessary. I'm mean all that weight up high.
You can fit 33" with a suspension lift, which is more practical anyway.

I'm working on some sliders (one day) which would be a more relevant mod too.

Got through this rocky creek bed without too much drama....
