YES
there are pics people in this months 4wdmonthly on (Outers name ) Pipes Rig ...on the conversion that Overkill Engineering done using Dobbins X Link Setup ...
And as Chad has said its the Same setup minus that Pipes rig is using factory 80 Series Radius arms and not custom jobbys as is in Chad's Bling Lux Oh yeah and them hydraulic coil over doodads that he also has ......
It also expalins how the setup works in the mag from memory

Its been in the states for ages . Heaps of places make x-link style kits for the full size rigs over there.

Will sort through the large pile of petersons mags when i get home. I'm pretty sure i remember reading a short article about a kit built for the front end of the F250 super duty that used the x-link setup. Cant remember the manufacturer but it was a pretty bling kit.

the only thing that i could find was a setup that was nothing to do with what glenn had designed. It was an air bag setup that linked the 2 bags together and controled the ride hight. go figure.lay80n wrote:Will sort through the large pile of petersons mags when i get home. This is not top secret
no one likes the photos or can understand them.
As i have said before if you are keen to see it give me a call and i will arrange for you to see my setup in the flesh

Do you really gain that much extra flex out of it. From reading the mag the control arms are bolted to the back of the diff as per normal and rather then using the front bolt on the diff housing they're bolted to this pivot. But the pivot is limited to probably 1 - 2 degrees as the control arms would hit the diff housing, something I would have thought would be less then desirable.
Surely a four or five link setup would give greater flex, then again that may be harder to get approval for. though I can't see an engineer liking the metal to metal contact of control arm on diff housing.

Why not 3 link with panhard? its simple and its proven.

3 link on an 80 that works very well by the looks of it.
I just set up a 3 link on my lux with an 80s front diff and its flexes more than i want it to at this stage and it behaves remarkably well at highway speeds.

good to see dobbin engineering have a high standard of customer sirvice too.
all i can say is that when i heard of this idea i had me wallet open ready to pay to have it done. but after 3 emails to try and get pics, then receiving a pic of a pos hilux that was flexing like my old ifs truck did. followed by a message explianing that i must be stupid if i cant see a picture that was not attached.
now u say some people are just thick and still no picture of a x link truck that has actual real flex or a close up picture. lets just say ill spend the money on a product that i know ill get customer service buying be it a better product or not
