My post above and speach at the Presentation that most of the "TEAM's" did not attend pretty well covered everyone anyway. Pretty sure at the presentation i said "Thanks everyone for a great season". But like i said most teams left or could not be bothered attending the presentation so many wouldn't know.

I suppose if you get bagged for forgetting one or two people when you thank people, then maybe i should do as others have done and not thank anyone at all!

I'm working on it Not Not. Miss Kirky reckons she's gotta get a
little "town" car before I get any more toys though.
Any one selling a Barina heap....I mean cheap.

I've got my name on the 4wd monthly giveaway buggy, thats if
Tony doesn't rig the draw like he's threatened, otherwise how much
you selling yours for ??? If it's cheap dont post it PM me. I dont mind
competing in an uncompetitive buggy, it puts the emphasis back on
driver/spotter skill......that is why you didn't win this year right??? it was
the buggy??? :D

well after 3 goes, i have the DVD sorted.... a little grainy in places, and the music is a bit sus on a couple of the songs because of the bitrate of the mp3 used.... but it has 5 minute chapters, and it all works, and it's watchable, and runs for an hour  a mate of mine who isn't into 4wding and knows even less about rock crawling was very impressed.... his words "holy shit! they drive down that!!" hehe I'll convert it, again  and start doing copies.... i'll send out as many as i can on monday.

Matt you are a wanker so i am not even going to bother with responding to ya. :finger:

But shaun No theres nothing wrong with the buggy. (that cant be fixed haha) We went to the finals with not really much chance of making the top 2 and we had nothing to loose. All year we have avoided most bonus lines and tryed to drive safe As in finishing coarses. So we figured at the finals we would "have a go" and try most bonuses and really push the heap to the limits and see what we and the buggy could do. From doing this i think we learnt more in one event then we have all year. Plus we think we put on a damn good show. Especially on the shoot out coarse. some pro mod buggys (1) had nothing to loose as we were allready out of the 3 and still didnt have the balls to have a go at the bonus. (stab at off rock racing haha) But the roll on that coarse pointed out a few safety issues that i had overlooked all year and am now aware of. Yeah i am probly not one off the best drivers out there' I am the first to admitt that. But with every event we are learning more and more so for the first ever year of competing Myself and steve are pretty damn proud of how we went. With an ace driver the buggy may have done better this year but it didnt as i drove it! Another Idea we had was to try put on a show with trying to drive silly stuff and have a better chance of decent pics in mags and so on and allready we made the TV news thing and the mags we will have to wait and see. But that just goes to try and get good coverage for existing sponsers and prospective sponsers. But all in all We thought we did well and are pretty stoked about the year weve had.

The buggy will not be for sale even after i finish putting a new one together as i will offer it to friends and such to drive when they want with the 1 F/F rule You f@#$ it you fix it.

Cheers Jamie "I tryed the bonus and failed but it looked good" Hughes

One other thing i should add is the help from nearly every other team this year with trying diffrent lines and such and driving tech tips. For this sport to grow and encourage new drivers in to it this is a really good trait to have behind us all and should try even more to share the expertise in these areas to any new blood that steps up to the rockcrawling comp scene.

Not Not can I be your fwiend ???

I'm not sure what your safety issues are but is attaching the spotters strap
on the shootout bonus one of them. Sitting in a buggy that's vertical with
the loud pedal pinned looked good as a spectator but it musta been a wierd feeling.

No full credit to the fella that built the frame! And i say that with full respect in this situation as it saved my ass bigtime.. It was all good untill it fell sideways and my head hit the ground then i started seeing starts.

Spotters strap   wheres the fun in that!! And without it adds to spectater value  We havent used a strap ever! so why use one and not end the seasone in a bigway that me and other people will not forget in a hurry. Trust me it was the best ride in the park. Much so i am really pumped about next season now. Where as before the finals i was a bit put off doing the whole of next year as the traveling is a bit much but now Well im keen to go around again. Especially after the way the finals were run. Top notch every second of the weekend. And from what i hear of others Everybody seems to think the same.

The Finals were run extremely well.

It was amazing how stress-free, friendly, fun and well-organised the competition was. The work that Tony put into the event really paid off and the advertising and promotion of the event to wider media outlets OUTSIDE of 4WDriving made a big difference to the spectator numbers.

This, I'm sure, is only the start of the coverage that rock crawling - as a whole - will enjoy in this country. The people will come to watch...but they have to know what it is and when its on.

Great job, WE Rock Australia.

doing copies of the DVD i have produced at the moment.... the minister for DVDs and finance will post them for me tomorrow..... i hope that those that wanted one like them.... I'm new to video editing  very time consuming and tedious at times..... there is supposed to be an issue with one of the music tracks according to my son, but i ain't going to fix it, and then wait for another 90 minutes for it to render and burn it again. Hey, it's free ;)

Your Righ Micka

This event was the best they have put on so far. Courses were challenging, the organisation tops and to have some outside media promising. WEROCK has done great things for the sport and the Haultech boys have my thumbs up  the biggest let down was not have the Tim & Pip compete in our buggy.

I must say on behalf of our ABT Team I was sorry to hear about the issues with the welders and generators. In the past we have also bought along welders and gennies (almost something Gonads cant leave home without), we too have had our gear misstreated and it sucks. I have check with our teammembers and they assure me they did not mistreat these items. Nonetheless if I can help you guys out with anything in the future to return the favour dont hesitate to ask. He Jamie maybe that Atlas :D

Now that the season is over I would like to thank everyone involved in our team. Pip and Tim have put in a huge effort over the year and proven to be first class sports and competitors. It will be sad not to have them competing next year mainly due to family comitments and finances (competing is not cheap!)

As the ABT & Staun Racing team we will be lucky enough to be able to send our team over to the US to compete in the WEROCK Final. This team will be made up of the ABT buggy, Firebug and Gonads buggy which i call the Thunder Bug. I will thank Staun for helping make this happen and Sam & Tony from Haultech for assisting with the freight.

Shaun i will be getting that atlas regards of anything else so i will be talking to you soon bout that.

What a shit not having Tim and Pip compete next year. They are 2 of the best blocks in the padock. So whos gunna be driving Pips machine or will it be resting?

As far as the whole tools thing goes It is all in the name of comradery and if something gets broken its not hard to say " oh shit sorry mate but this happened and it was an accident bla bla bla" But in the heat of trying to get a fix done within 45 min sometimes little issues are forgottn bout and things do go wrong. Since competing this year Steve and i have had to replace about $500 worth of snapon tools as we have not used them for the intended use. ( using screwdrivers as chissels and spanners and such as hammers) but its the heat of competition that does it every time. Micka and Harleys generater was a little hard to start if you did not know how to. I was needing to use it when i twisted the rear tailshaft and needed to weld up another but couldnt figure out how to start it as ive never bloody seen a diesel one before. Whilst in the mids of crappn myself as we were on the clock Micka came down and showed me how to start it so all was good. But the way it was broken i reckon it was just not started properly with the decomp lever that it is fitted with. It is very dishartening though when you lend stuff in good faith and it is left broken with no one coming forward to claim responsability. It taked a bigger man to accept resposability than to hide from the fact. And also using foreign tools sometimes is a bit hard as your not familiar with them.
But not all teams have access to good tools to bring with them and after the cost of building and running a buggy theres sometimes not much left for the likes of a portable welder and geni to run it Then theres the other part of trying to carry it all with a buggy in tow.

End of the day though its all about sticking together. If at any event i told everyone to get stuffed and bring there own tools then sure as shit there would come a time i would need something and noone would help me out. So it all goes around and end of the day "It all sorts out in the soup" And for this sport to grow i think we all need to stick together!!!

they arent going to stop completely its just a temporary break. The boys plan to be back but unlikely at the begining of the season and they are unlikely to make it to all the events purely due to finances and family committments. Pip is already onto designing a new buggy as we speak.

Pip and I are deciding on how to part the buggy between us at the moment. To keep her going I will most likely need to get a new motor and poweglide and she should be good to go.

Maybe a group of competitors or the event organisers could get together and ensure we have the necessary tools available at all the events. Simialr to what we uset to have as part of the 4x4 club where we had recovery gear, GPS, Satphone and portable electric winch. Just a idea and maybe something WEROCK might be able to assist with!
