right, so thats makes no sense at all as most cars are single spinners from factory. not a bad idea (short side in long side), i thought of doing that myself but its more fun to do 13 inch wide twins down the road
It will be different to drive, but you'll get used to it!
I drove a Falcon ute with a welded diff on and off road for fourteen years.
Tyre wear ? - dunno but if it was excessive, it was more than made up for in increased traction.
Got a welded difff in a thrasher at a mates place cops heaps done plenty of big skids on the black stuff big clutch dumps stilll hasn't shat 1. be sure to use mig as you don't get the slag like the arc welded mate done 1 with a arc lasted half hour if that.

Most is a pretty big statement. Name one car that only has drive to one isolated wheel
If this is daily driven, then driving with it welded is a great deal safer than with one axle in.
i know of a few cars that only ever drove on one wheel (including a daihatsu charade a workmate had that wore out the passenger front tyre ONLY 5 times over a year) id say its safer in the wet on one axle so when it spins in the wet the car goes straight, where a locked or tight LSD diff goes out nicely to the side for fun. i fail to see how it would effect it havng 1 wheel driving too, what would it cause
Only one wheel driving will make the car pull to one side like a bit*h. In this case if the LHR wheel isnt driving then then car will pull to the left under power as the driving force is not centralised. Find a air-locked full floating rear end (cruiser style) and remove ther long side axle, and cover the open end with a bag or somethign to stop dirt or oil leaking. Engage the locker and drive it. It will want to pull under power.

When i broke an axle in my corollas welded diff it didn't pull at all. just spun the good side up in 1st and 2nd in the dry which is pretty good for a 1200

Same mate in Lj torana worked six cyl pick your gear and it would spin with a snaped axle. Piss poor trying to get up any hill without speed.
