how to remove hilux head unit

Post by troylux »

hey guys,

its time for a new head unit
question is how to i pull the old one out in a ln106
i can't really see any screws to get off the black surroundings around the head unit so that i get can in there and rip it out.
or does the black part (with the yellow arrows in the pic) just pull off.
or how should i go about gettting it out.

Lots of unscrewing ;)

You have to remove both the passenger (incl glovebox) and drivers side plastics first as they both overlap the center. Once they're out it's easy, doesn't take long when you've done it a few times.

Installing a new HU is easy to if it's a Jap one like Pioneer as mine slotted into the Toyota stereo mounts and that was it, no fabbing needed apart from wiring.

Good luck ;)
