want to know if anyone has put a 350 chev in a hilux with a 5 speed and how much did it set you

what have u done and how did it go

I cant help u with most of ya questions.. but yes i can be done.. a bloke down here did it..

Its not on the rd very often tho.. so i'm guessin its not to reliable..

aka.. diffs fall to bits etc

I have one but not in manual. 350/t400 marks adapter and 9incj rear. Had a lot of issues in summer with overheating. Installed trans cooler and 2inch body lift and 17inch thermo and it runs fine. I guess cost could vary greatly on whether you just get a second hand motor?? and get the marks adapter kit. If you were to do it i would suggest going to an 88 -92 model as they supposedly have ectra room under the bonnet.

Most conversions are 253/308 which have a wider v and need to have firewall slightlt modded and I think sump modded.

Cost wise it would be better just finding one already done and then making final mods yourself.

Mine is a 84 extra cab which I am thinking about getting rid of. I could always send you some pics just to show you how it would look... Also manual would produce far less heat but in my opinion the auto gives more useable power both on and off road.
