Looking for a factory jerry can holder for a gen1

Post by sparkem »

As the title says, I want a factory jerry can holder for a 1st generation Montero/Pajero. If any one can find me one for a good price and is willing to ship to the US, that woudl be awesome. I know it will cost a lot, but these dont exist in the US. If anyone wants anything from the US let me know.

Thanks

Sparkem, I did price these new from Mitsu and you just don't want to know the cost :? It was in the order of $700 Oz for everything - brackets, bolts, strap, can etc.
These cans don't hold 20ltr I believe more like 15ltr.
They are also very rare to find at a wreckers and usually they don't have some of the brackets and mounts.
I have seen a few on Ebay from time to time that maybe your best bet if your after every single piece.
The other option is to do what Lloyd and a few others have done and bolt the Confer mount to the back door (above the handle) at least you get a 20ltr can and don't have to swing it out of the way to open the rear door.
If this mount can survive on Lloyd's truck for numerous years I'll certainly endorse it :D
I just luv my "clacker Jabber"

$700 outrageous, what are they made of super titanium alloy. MarkG on 4x4wire got one off or AUS ebay. I saw what Llyod and other have done with the small mount. I wanted to stay get a Mitsu one because they are very rare. Thanks for checking, if you happen to come across one in a yard, please let me know.
