Spal thermos...who has them and are they any good.
Thinking of running two 16 " bolted direct onto the radiator with no cowl.
Any info appreciated.

ive never heard of them but i know a set of au falcon thermos will out perform most fans.http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=63537 try this guy he was selling them for $179 a set.
I think they are the ones i was recommended. They have a longer life than the davies craig ones as the are not reversable; something about not having to be sleeved to run backwards .
I have a few other things to do to mine first but i want to put one in the Lux.
I would recommend using the cowling as this stops the fan pulling air directly sideways and causes more of a vacuum effect through the radiator.

hey hillbilly, i have dual 11'' spal fans on my vn v6 hilux. They are flush mounted to the radiator, these bad boys pull a massive amount of air.
Was recommended these by my boss a auto sparky, he said better than davies craig and bigger output.
Haven't fully pushed these fans yet as project just finished

toughnut runs these well was last time. 2 x 16 inch on a custom radiator in a GU ute. The last I know was that he was happy with them in everything except for mud as he had not tested them in Mud yet. if you have the room between the rad and engine then a cheaper alternative for the AU fans are the twin thermos from a EF / EL. almost the same as the AU fans but just a bit thicker.

I just put a 14" electric fan on my V6 Rodeo cos the fan clutch is stuffed.
Its a Seimens brand, S blade type, OEM out of a BMW. Its a front mount one and it blows big time.
I dont know what the CFM is but it does the job and that's all that matters.
Being OEM from a BMW I'd expect it to be reliable but you never know....
Only need to turn it on when I'm off road going slow especially in low range as thats when the temp needle starts to rise.
I dont know what amps it draws but I had to go from a 30A relay and 30A fuse (it blew) to a 70A relay and 40A fuse
