2006 Jimny

Post by brianstevens »

Hi All

I've just ordered a 2006 jimny and I'm having issues.

I ordered it with an ARB Bullbar but they tell me it doesn't fit the 2006 model because the chassis has changed. So I decided to swap the bullbar for a snorkel but they are now telling me that doesn't fit either.

How different is this bloody thing?

I'll be picking it up next week once the OME lift kit is fitted (assuming that fits) but I'm hoping to get the bullbar and snorkel as soon as I can.

Anyone had the same problem? Any advice?

Thanks in advance

We picked ours up in April, is Feb. build. We have the ARB colour coded Bullbar and Airtec snorkel, both through 4wd Megastores. As far as I know they should b the same.
Thanks

I also have a 2006 Jimny on order. I ordered a ARB winch bar and OME kit through an ARB store and they didn't mention anything about not fitting.

Who told you it wouldn't fit?

I called ARB myself and they said it didn't fit due to the chassis changing. I smell a rat!!

I'll give 4wd Megastores a call and see what they say. Thanks dude

Firstly make sure it is an 2006. Check i.d tags. There are a lot of series two ones (pre electrical 4wd shift) still new all so. The jimny has not been a huge seller for suzuki. I would recheck the snorkel the bodies look the same. Once you get it visit 4wd stores and check. Maybe they can be modded. Why do you what a Bullbar any way. Had one sold one. Too heavy.

I think the ARB is a great bar,i have the winch bullbar on my Jimny with a warn M8000 winch, with Ipf extreme sports 800xs lights ,i don't think its too heavy and i have a whole exo cage on my Jimny .I also have the TJM snorkel .I would imagine they would be the same but i not certain. If u wanna go anywhere hardcore u will want some form of protection on ur jimny as it looks tuff and its a million times better than some crap plastic stock bar.

The 2006 is not the same.
The guards are a different shape, the snorkel for the old guard shape does not fit the new shape.
There is no release date for a snorkel to fit the new shape.

Where is the difference? I can't see it from the exterior, is it internal or in the engine bay?

OK, so the body and chassis has changed.

Is the rest of the car still compatible with Jimny parts? Will suspension mods still fit?

I spoke with both ARB(RE: bullbar) and TJM(RE: snorkel) today and both said they would fit. I will be having ARB winch bar, winch, OME kit fitted next week, so will know what the story is then.

Picked up my jimny from the dealer yesterday and salesman ensured me that nothing has change. Try dealing with a different store like munga said.

I collected mine last night and I gotta tell you it looks just like any photo I've ever seen. I'll be heading out to buy a snorkel and Bullbar this weekend.

Fun car just the same, can't wait to take it into the dirt!!

So Todders, have you got the bullbar and snorkel on the car yet??

OME kit is around $1000 fitted for springs and shocks, no codes sorry and is having medium springs fitted but if front does sag with bar and winch will replace with heavy springs.

" but if front does sag with bar" If will. Just wait till/ if you winched it. Heaps more sag. If you have plan for a bar and winch later .I would have got the H\\D spring first. Every dollar counts.
