maximum tyre sizes (95 disco)

what is the maximum tyre size that can be fit to a 95 discovery without modification? I have been told that the maximum is 30" diameter (currently fitted are 215/70/16 at around 28" diameter).

To fit 31" tyres, what mods are required? I want to avoid modifying the panels, but will consider a spring lift (any idea on cost for a spring lift?)

i have the 93 mod and did a 2" spring lift put 31"on and still had to trim several inches of the rear guards as the cut up the tyres my view would be to do a body lift first as it is cheap and easy

i agree with suzi..bodylift will be the easier, cheaper way
