Mine is just velcro with a flap over it from when maria sewed it up! Havent done anything to water proof it. And to keep the windows clear i got the tinted one and have some sort of soft top cleaner i won in a raffle! Havn't used it yet because it still lookes like brand new. The mud doesn't even stain it like others on the market. Well done maria

Hi, I will be away until the 20th of October.

You can still rich me on my e-mail for enquiries and orders.

I'm going to the States and while there I will have a look at materials to make the summer bikini top (translucent) as what I have find here is not UV treated.

Thanks.

Wash and care of soft tops

Post by Maria »

Suzuki boy, this is what I found on their web site. I had sent them an e-mail inquering about washing mad off the tonneau material. I let you know when they get back to me.

Care Instruction

Nylex Marine products require a certain degree of care. A regular washing program will enhance the beauty of your boat canopy and make subsequent cleaning easier - particularly during dry spells where the product is not being exposed to rain (nature's cleaner), dirt can build up.

Nylex recommends the following easy maintenance steps:
1. Brush off any loose dirt and rinse with lukewarm water.
2. Apply a mild, lukewarm soap solution, such as dishwashing detergent, with a soft brush or sponge.
3. Let the soap stand for a short period of time, but do not allow to dry.
4. Carefully rinse the fabric with clean water to remove remaining soap residue.
5. Allow the vinyl to thoroughly dry, then re-use or fold and store.

Because vinyl is inherently waterproof, additional treatment is unnecessary.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or cleaners containing solvents, gasoline, petroleum distillates or plasticisers, as these may permanently damage the vinyl surface

Does anyone have any more pics of the bikini top + windjammer, possibly with a rollbar.

Or a bikini top + fastback.

These look awesome Maria.

Hey maria,

just wondering if there is a chance of getting you to email some sample pics of the tops.
I am after a fast back to fit an 85 drover(sierra) only real problem i forsee is the fact i have buttons to secure the front on the top to the windscreen.
presuming it would be a matter of measuring the distance between the studs, or i can attactch them at a later date myself.. am located down in melbourne so leaving the 4b or top with you isnt really viable.. can measure any dimensions that you may require.

My email is foolsp33d@yahoo.com if u would'ny mind emailing the pics i'll be more than happy to upload to my photobucket and attatch the links as pics for future reference.

Same goes for anyone else with pics of softtops purchased from maria.. email them to me and i will more than willing make the links etc..

looking forward to your return maria.

Maria would it be possible to get a full sized soft top but with roll up sides as well as the back?
Would that work? Would just the rear corners be enough to hold it on securely?
Just a crazy idea I have had :)
Cheers
Paul.
