gq cvs
When I had MY shorty .....that was 1 of the first things I had done while I was fitting lockers ..took the cv's to a local drivetrain shop andthey welded on some rings...........
Not ever did I break a cv and the rig did get driven in hard bound up situations runnin 37"s lockers 4.88's transfer gears ......so it had alot of torque runnin through the drivetrain ...... I think its worth doing ........ but it isnt always the bell to break although the ring may stop any deformation of the bell which may contribute to the cages letting go .....but dont qoute me .....maybe I was just lucky

not a hundred percent on the price was a while ago ....around 150-170 rings a bell but like i said it was atleast 18months ago ....
I didnt split the axle from the cv just left it for them to do.... but normally a BF mallet or nylon hammer can help in persauding the cv off the axle

I would just pickup another axel.... unless your looking at throwing it in some comps then i would go the full GU housing. (but for playing on weekend etc if you brake ya just unlock hubs go home and fix)mattlux

Thanks for the info guys, i have just pulled my shorty apart and found i broke the axle and the star in the cv, outer housing of the cv is still in one piece. Has anyone seen this before, and what is the best fix for this apart from the gu diff.
