Have an issue with a 100 Series Solid Axle 2000 model petrol. All of a sudden will not run on the Main tank, only the Sub tank. Seems to starve of fuel when switched over to main tank. My thoughts are the Fuel Solinoid.
Question # 1 Any suggestions regarding this fuel issue?
Question #2 How do these tanks work from a plumbing perspective. I know the 80 Series used to pump the Sub-tank into the main when you activated the switch, the Hundred appears to keep the two tanks seperate. Is this the case?
Question #3 I have run the Sub nearly empty (According to the guage) and been able to get about 40 Litres in it, but the main is another issue. I can run another 120km once the fuel light comes on, and the needle will be well below the empty mark, yet I can only squeeze 80 Litres in it. What mark is the warning light supposed to come on at? 25% left?
Thanks for the advice.

100 Series fuel questions

I have a dx 94 80 series and both tanks are kept seperate. Both tanks run into a solinode that switches between either tank. The same goes for the fuel return.
Mine is a diesel, but I can't see why a petrol 100 would be too much different.

1. Sounds like your fuel pump is RS, or the pick up screen is blocked. You'll need to do some diagnostics, access to the pump and pickup is from under the second row seat and carpet.
2. The 100's run a high pressure EFI pump in each tank, so they remain seperate systems, unlike the 80 which only had one EFI pump in the main tank and transfered from the sub to the main.
3. Refer to your owners manual for their recommendation, but EFI pumps don't like to be run dry so the low level light these days often gives plenty of warning.
