Locking wheel nuts

Post by Pat Murray »

Does anyone out there know of a brand of locking wheel nut that WORKS without being able to be diaabled and thus allowing the wheels to be ripped off? It seems that most can be damaged enough to get them off!

Nope, they can all be undone with a coldchisel and hammer or a small pipe wrench.
They only prevent opertunistic crime and honest people.

my mate lost the key to the lock nuts on his sierra, so we smashed a crusty rattle gun socket over them. making sure they were a nice tight fit, and rattled the lock nuts off. we could have just used the ratchet with an extention, but the rattle gun was way more fun. easy stolen, waste of $20 for lock nuts.

only other way to go is get 4, 5 or 6 sets of the lock nuts, and put one from each set on each wheel. then you will have no more normal nuts so undo. i'm sure no one would even think about ripping your wheels off.

lock nuts will only stop the opurtunistic thief....

In reality they only take a couple minutes to get off if need be.

They are a waste of money............

lock nuts are only good for a piss off when you get a flat in the scrub after you leave the key at home...
if someone wants your stuff enough they'll get it, dont matter what you do to your car. sad but true.
munch, munch, jeep for lunch.
