been wonderin which compressor wood be the best all rounder (runs lockers, air tools, etc)

Don't think you can run air tool off any 12v compressor.

Also don't forget the ARB compressor has a small air tank built in for the lockers.

Bushranger Max-air, 50lpm @ 30psi (twice the speed of an ARB), RRP $390

Wait for Rays Outdoors to have a 20% off sale and get it for about $319 with a 5 year no fuss warranty.

Sounds like good value for money to me ...


Otherwise K-mart sells a beauty for $29.95, will pump ya up in about a week. :finger:

Don't be tight Jake. Leave your ARB for your lockers, and run a Clisby and tank for everything else. Clisby's are Australian made, no plastic parts, cranks run in oil, and about 60 ltr/min (compared to 23ltr/min ARB). You can also tap a line into your ARB locker tank with a valve so you can use the Clisby when your ARB lets you down.

there are a few different models of clisby.

it would help if you told us exactly what you were going to use the compressor for - if you want air tools, you'll more or less need an air cond compressor, if you just want to run lockers then a $30 k-mart compressor will do it.

the bushranger max air is a tops value all rounder.

i've got the cheap repco one with all of the airline bits & pieces... runs the locker and saved myself big bucks from mr ARB

hmm, the Oasis is quite capable of running air tools, is 12 volt, but at $700 US is a tad pricey:O

That looks like a truck comp with an electric motor attached, will it run an impact gun or does it need an air tank? :?:

OK for anyone in Adelaide Rays Outdoors on Morphett St in the city have got the Maxair back in stock. I've been waiting for a month now and have finally got one. :D

Total cost was only $291 - 20% off, plus they will give another 6.5% off that with a Rays Outdoors privilege card. The cards are free in store or available online from www.raysoutdoors.com.au .RRP for the Maxair is $390 so it is a huge discount. :D

One thing on the 5 year warranty though- it says " this does not cover fair wear and tear". So I'm guessing if it dies from wearing out due to being used a lot it's just bad luck....

Holy sh*t! that thing draws up to 180amps! It uses a York compressor and a winch motor!
