The offset chosen from the factory is designed that the scrub radius is close to zero, and the centre of the tyre (tread width) is positioned to be slightly biased toward loading the inner bearing (larger one) when standard rims and tyres are fitted. Changing the offset will increase the loading on the bearing, esp on the smaller (weaker) outer. The idea between different offset rims is to be able to correct scrub radius changes and keep steering geometry close to correct with different tyres and also clear brake components etc. Different cars use different offset due to differeng front end geometry and set-up. We 4x4 owners have just been able to use the different offsets to widen our track width.

Layto....
first ive heard of different sized bearings. always replaced with 2 identical bearings.

Yep, moved 40.5mm inward each mounts, front and rear

For the brakes. I cutted the 2 brakehose bracket off the NT diff as the WT had one, i still left the existing steel brakepipe on the diff that came with the WT, cutted one pipe where it joins up from each end of the diff. bent that one neatly and made the groove using the flaring tool you can get from supercheap for about 7 bucks, once done that, join the pipe to the hose and you got normal braking... yah you gotta put fluid in. i haven't checked the full flex wise yet as i ran out of distance in my bottlejack

handbrake.. still on the transfer brake..I just removed the cables that joins at the rear drum, just all there is sticking out is the lever for handbrake..I wonder how that go for RWC?

Front brake hose... at full lock turn, the hose seem a bit tight. i mite look in getting a longer hose for both side :?

Can't take pic as it's raining atm

I'd draw a line across the pearch, on the diff too.. then cut one pearch off, weld new one on.. then go onto the other side pearch and repeat. no changes of angles that way ;)
