Leaky DOHC

Post by NJV6 »

Hey Guys

I have a leaky DOHC. And getting sick of having a leaky DOHC.

2 litres of oil per 1000km. And that was leaked, so I got the cam cover gaskets replaced as that it where the leak was identified as coming from by the Mitsi dealer. I also go the cam belt done in the process and a few other things.

After paying the bill I got the vehicel back and it was a bit rumbly so I took all the belts off and the rumble continued, so back to the vet it went. But that wasn't the only reason it went back - It is still leaving a rather good size patch of oil on the ground.

Now the mechanic is talking about it coming out the back of one of the heads. My question is WHY.

Why would it all of a sudden spit a cam cover gasket and also whereever this oil is coming from. Maybe it was coming from here all along, It is like something is blocked and creating excess pressure

Any ideas at all - Help........!
