and is there much diference between the 80 diffs and the 60's, width and strength wise?

Unfortunately the 80 centre is still weaker than the 60 even with an ARB inside. Not that an 80 diff wouldn’t make a good transplant, it all depends on your driving style, where you are driving it and tyre size.
GU is wider again than 80 gear. Depends on what you really intend to do with it and your bank balance.

i enquired about this, putting 80 diffs under my 75. basically in QLD you've got no hope of getting it engineered, or if you do it will cost you thousands. That's what was told to me anyway. let me know if you find out differently coz i'd still be interested in doing it.
i decided to go with re-centred 3 inch rims purely for off road stuff.

the tail shaft comes out of the transfercase on the rite side and dosn't look like it will conect up with a center pumkin.bad_religion_au wrote:what gets in the way of the centered pumpkin?badger wrote:oh and 80 series has a smaller front diff bit can be as strong with a air locker in it

mab 80 rear gu front
so for the rear ur saying the 60 series diff is stronger but wich is wider 80 or 60
