225/75/15 and a Vitara

Post by luxbloke »

Hi Folks,

Not after a HUGE forum discussion because I know these questions have been asked before and they can be annoying and P*%S people off... :bad-words: I did search but couldn't find a straight out simple answer...

Will a set of 225/75/15 tyres fit on a stock 2dr 1992 JLX Vitara without any rubbing or guard chewing :D etc...?

Cheers
Matt

I was able to fit upto a 235/75 R15 on a stock 92 JX vitara without any mods or rubbing so I would assume the JLX will have no probs with the size. Correct me if I am wrong.

yes, you can fit the 225's easily enough on a stock vit. you can go to a 235 A/T or H/T with no problems at all. if you have the crusty stock vit rims, the will have too much pos offset, which might cause some little rubbing at the chassis at full lock. either not worry about it, or adjust steering stops, which also leaves a greater turning circle, not that it was great to start with. or look for some WT sierra/jimny stock rims, which stick out a tine bit more. should fix it. and cheap too, cos sierra drivers all want to fit 33"s and 15x10 rims or something.
