Diff Ratio's

Post by Artificial_Aspiration »

Hi I've got a 1988 GQ SWB 4.2 Petrol 5 speed Patrol and I'm just interested in what the rear diff is ment to be. Only because I've read conflicting information 3.9 and 4.111, at 100km/hour (on the speedo) in 5th is it sitting on 2400rpm or close to it.

Thanks

What size tyres? Sounds like you have 4.1s though. It is easy to find out by checking your compliance plate under the bonnet. It will say HG39, HG41 etc, the numbers correspond to the ratio eg HG41 = 4.1.
