Mate Vitaras are easy as. There is a bolt behind the stereo unit holding it in, it can be taken off by pulling the cigarette tray out and undoing the bolt at the top at the front. inside the ashtray compartment is another bolt which it easy to remove and this will hold 3 plates together. After that there is a few little tabs around the unit which need to be straightened out and the unit will pull out. then cut the cable off close to the plug and rewire your new one. Undo these tabs with a small screwdriver and just be a little bit rough and it should pop out. The dash can be clipped apart by taking the surround of the fan controls off then the stereo one. It's pretty easy and with a bit of playing you should get it out.
