Difference between petrol and diesel snorkels in LN106

Post by trains »

Hi chaps.
I have been offered a safari snorkel off a petrol hilux same year as mine.

There both left side mounted.

Can someone tell me the difference between the petrol and diesel snorkels.

I assume the outside pieces the same as the bodys are the same, but the difference is in past the guard, or are they a different length outside so they line up differently with the airbox?/

cheers

From memory it is the internal parts to match up to the airboxes, different size and shape pipping. You can purchase an internal kit fro ARB but you would have to get the snorkel for free to be worth it as I was quoted approx $250 just for the internal fit kit for a 130 series.

I was talking about 88 models the petrols a yn63 and the diesels a ln106 (I think) these would be earlier than the ln130.
Trains does'nt state what model or year

Very true

So to end confusion , maybe.
If his is a 88 or later Hilux the internals will be different and the internal fit kit available is too expensive unless he can get the snorkel for next to nothing.

Hi chaps,
Thanks for your replies, sorry about not stating a year on the lux, I thought with a model number, that would be enough.
its a 95 Ln106.
Edited to add that the model type is stated in the subject :D
I should have also added it in the text as well.

I would expect anything from 88 on to 97 to be the same
.
Within that series model etc, what are the differences between the pet and diesel.

I can see from the safari site that the 97 models on, are very different in where they pick up the ducting in the guard etc.

cheers chaps.
