Engine code

Post by mattstar »

I have an 82 SD33, when checking build plates for diff ratio's the other day I noticed it didn't list them, I also noticed that the motor was listed as
"KR160 70kw @ 2600 rpm"
is this the norm. for an SD33, I thought it was the y160?

Yeah, I am aware of the codes/plate I am looking for, I just can't find it.
the engine plate; on the inside of drivers front guard, behind headlight had the info on the engine specs.
there's another i.d plate on the firewall behind the airfilter box, it is a build plate that list's aust. design rule codes etc. mentions that it was a three seater, nothing on diff ratio's though????
I had the carrier out about two months ago, stamped onto the ring gear was 38.8 : 1, does this mean I am running 3.8 ratio's?
By the way thanks for info on the engine code Mr. RMP&O
