Sierra stock bulb type?

Post by beaver700 »

Hi,

What sort of bulb does a stock sierra have? Does a h4 conversion require new lenses?

Thanks,

Martin

Sierras have sealed lights, so you cant just replace teh bulb, you have to replace the whole bulb/reflector/glass assembly.

as said before, teh stock light is 40 / 55 sealed beam hardly ever blows, but is kinda dull. To change to a larger size find a h4 sealed which is higher. or get a H4 reflector /glass and then pick any bulb with in legal wattage.

The h4 reflector you can fin d at wreckers most cars with a 7 inch round light will be a h4.

Other wise see the local auto shop and buy new h4 lense and bulb.

coilys came out with a semi sealed headlight with H4's. My 95 maruti also had these.

I would hazard a guess, and say that all models prior to 96 have sealed beam headlights.

My 95 has h4's, but they are spherical bulbs with the p45t base, normal h4's don't fit.
Gonna get the narva kit soon, $99 at autobarn. The narva's have the bult in parker.

Confirmed, i had to change one of mine the other week. I wanted to put some of those flash blue xenon type bulbs in, but they didnt make any for that particular bulb - so i had to settle for some flash hella ones, they put out a much whiter light.
