NP 205 transfer
ive been offered a 205 for the right price, i would like to know what your opinions on the cases are? what sort of aftermarket gear is available? i know they are f*kin strong, but id still like to have some reduction.
im running a VN 5 litre with a T700, i know they have a good first gear but would still like the option of reduction etc.
cheers

turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
Yep, there strong and they are rear disconectable
, dont think you can get gears for em, could allways run portals, that wouls sort the reduction out.
Pretty sure Atlas transfers, are based on a 205, but are geared for crawling.

where do they come in from?Wooders wrote:We've supplied a NP205 3:1 before - VERY Beefy.
But not cheap - about $2k.
they american? what brand makes them?
do u know if you need to mod shifter rails and the casing itself to fit them up?
probably dear cause you would have to change every single gear

won't the extra weight be a pain in the arse (and sap power) why not go a regular split case (same 2:1 as the NP) and put cash towards crawler gearschunderlicious wrote:wont be used for crawling much, mainly winch type events. after the strength first of all but also the ability to let the lux get up the steep hills with 36s
Spit my last breath
I honestly think all you guys misinterpret the weight of an NP205.
They really are not that heavy.
i have 4 transfercases on the floor in the garage.
a Navara one, GQ, MQ, and my NP205.
i can honestly say that both GQ / Navara transfercases are larger in size and also heavier in weight then an NP205 and its not much heavier than an MQ divorsed case......
i reckon it weights between 40 and 50 kgs
screwy
